How to Play Monopoly Live
The Wheel, the Host, and MR MONOPOLY
Monopoly Live is Evolution Gaming's board-game-themed money wheel. A live host spins a big vertical wheel divided into 54 equal segments while MR MONOPOLY, the game's animated mascot, waits at the side of the studio for the bonus rounds. Each round opens with a betting window of about 15 seconds, the host spins, and wherever the wheel stops decides what happens next.
It is one of the easiest live game shows to pick up. You place your chips on where you think the wheel will land, and everything else plays out on screen.
The Betting Spots
There are six spots you can bet on: the numbers 1, 2, 5, and 10, plus two bonus spots called 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls. The numbers dominate the wheel. The 1 covers roughly 22 of the 54 segments, the 2 about 15, the 5 about 7, and the 10 about 4. The rarer a segment is, the more it pays: 1 pays 1 to 1, 2 pays 2 to 1, 5 pays 5 to 1, and 10 pays 10 to 1.
The bonus segments are scarcer still. 2 Rolls appears three times on the wheel and 4 Rolls only once, making it the single rarest segment in the game. There are also two Chance segments, and here is the twist: you cannot bet on Chance directly. When it lands, the card applies to everyone with bets on the table.
Chance: A Card from MR MONOPOLY
When the wheel stops on Chance, MR MONOPOLY hands over a card with one of two outcomes. The first is a straight cash prize paid on your bet, a little bank-error-in-your-favor moment. The second is a multiplier: your bets stay exactly where they are, the host spins the wheel again, and whatever you win on the re-spin gets multiplied.
Multipliers can also stack. If one Chance multiplier is followed by another, the two are multiplied together rather than added. And if a Chance multiplier is active when the wheel lands on 2 Rolls or 4 Rolls, it carries into the board bonus and boosts every multiplier there. Those are the rounds that produce the eye-catching totals you will spot in the results history.
The Board Bonus: 2 Rolls and 4 Rolls
The board bonus is the heart of Monopoly Live. When the wheel lands on 2 Rolls or 4 Rolls, everyone who placed a bet on that spot comes along for the ride. An animated Monopoly board takes over the screen, MR MONOPOLY steps up, and a pair of dice is rolled to walk him around it.
Every square he lands on carries a multiplier, and those multipliers add up as he goes - properties, GO, Tax, even Jail all play a part. 2 Rolls guarantees at least two rolls of the dice and 4 Rolls guarantees at least four. Rolling a double earns an extra roll on top, with one exception: doubles rolled to escape Jail do not grant a bonus throw. A lucky run of doubles can stretch the walk well past the minimum.
When the rolls run out, all the collected multipliers are totaled into one final figure, capped at 10,000x, and that total is applied to your bonus bet.
How Wins Are Calculated
For number spins it is simple: if the wheel stops on the number you backed, you are paid at that number's rate, so a bet on 10 pays 10 to 1, and so on. If a Chance multiplier was active, your win is multiplied accordingly.
For the board bonus, your stake on 2 Rolls or 4 Rolls is multiplied by the final board total. If you had no bet on the winning spot, the round simply passes you by - there is no partial payout for watching. Every round ends in a single total multiplier, and that is the figure recorded for each spin in the round history.
